What is Life Hack all about?
I’ve been a fitness trainer for more than 20 years now, and all this while my focus has always been on intense body workouts and training methods. However, now my focus has shifted to neurosciences, I am studying the effects of the mind on the body. I am trying to bridge the gap between day to day mindsets and fitness. Life Hack is a website dedicated towards one single goal- to put it out there that fitness is not just about the body, it’s also about the mind.
What is it about the mind that’s so important for fitness?
Mindsets rule the body. A lot of times we tell our clients what to do and how to do it, but ultimately the execution depends upon them. Everything from our personal relationships to our professional lives are interconnected. People who are depressed may not be in the right frame of mind to perform physical activities but we must push them to do so because at the end of a workout routine they are going to feel much better even mentally, that’s scientifically proven!
What is the most important quality one must seek in a trainer?
Well, first of all a trainer who does not keep a fixed mindset is the ideal type. Just because a certain method works for you doesn’t mean it will work for someone else. A lot of trainers don’t ask questions to their learners. I think a trainer has to know each and every aspect of the client’s lifestyle in order to assess the best plan of action for them.
What is the ideal type of diet?
When it comes to diet, success is only achieved when you commit to a long term plan. Short term diet plans, six week crash courses are of no use because you are going to put that weight back on. A conscious mind is the only way one can lead a healthy lifestyle.
