What is Anti- Gravity?
The founder of anti-gravity, Christopher Harrison, has a background in gymnastics and dancing on Broadway. In 1990 he had his own performance troop performing anti- gravity techniques 40 feet up in the air and more than a decade later in 2007 he made this technique accessible to common people. He did this by creating another technique which would allow people to perform Anti-Gravity 4 feet above the ground.
How did you become a part of Anti- Gravity?
Christopher came to Ireland in 2010 and trained us to conduct workshops all around Ireland, that’s how I was first introduced to this unique fitness technique. A year later he made me a master trainer so I could train other people who wanted to become anti- gravity fitness instructors.
How does this technique help the body and the mind?
Christopher came to India in 1996 to perform Anti-Gravity with his performance group and while he was there he sought help for the injuries that he had while performing gymnastics. His body needed help and that’s when he discovered yoga, an ancient Indian technique. Later, with his knowledge in yoga, gymnastics, Pilates and dance he infused these techniques to create Anti-Gravity. The aim of this fitness technique is to heal the body and restore and repair muscles.
How does Anti-Gravity work?
So we have the Harisson Anti-Gravity hammock which is used to support the body. Anyone can suspend in the air! The hammock allows you to align the body and do inversions. It’s a really fun workout!
